Why might we choose a Celebrant, rather than another kind of officiant?
In a Celebrant ceremony, YOU are empowered. Nothing is imposed on you. Instead, in a collaborative process, a Celebrant guides you in choosing rituals, readings, symbols and music to fulfill your ideals and vision for a Ceremony. No two Celebrant ceremonies are the same.
Celebrants are ceremony specialists who have a solid background in the history of ritual and ceremony, and the traditions of many cultures, beliefs and religions. They are experts in composing ceremonies, managing rehearsals and performing life-cycle ceremonies. Celebrants are also experienced in the art of ceremonial public speaking.
What is process like?
After we reach the heart of your story of love together, we then discuss other elements of your ceremony, plus your hopes and desires: readings, music, and any rituals and customs you wish to include (from your own tradition or from others). The ceremony essay will be guided by compelling questions, like the ones listed below and on the right.
Again, this process is open and collaborative! I work in partnership with you to answer all your questions so that your special day truly reflects your own authentic story of love. Through this collaboration, I will revise your essay and ceremony until it is just right! Your satisfaction is paramount!
